Message from the TMAA President
Greetings:The Tennessee Medical Association Alliance (TMAA) is an organization of physicians and physician spouses working to promote the health of Tennessee and to support the family of medicine.
We participate in both national, state, and county health projects. This year we are focusing on the American Medical Association Alliance (AMAA) program called Screen Out!. This program is a grass roots campaign to reduce the value of movies for the tobacco industry. The ultimate goal is getting tobacco out of Hollywood through a strong base of national support, petitions, and endorsements which will reduce the influence of smoking in movies on adolescent tobacco use.
We also work to support legislation that benefits access to health care in Tennessee. We provide opportunities for contributing to medical schools through the American Medical Association Foundation. Membership is crucial to the success of our work. We invite all physicians and physician spouses in Tennessee to join us as we work to support the family of medicine.
